This was so short it did not seem to fit even being Novella. It was too short. I enjoyed it very much. Nicole Grotepas is a very talented author. I read it because I had read Blue Hearts of Mars and loved it. I have another by her which I think must be a very, very short story also. She is very descriptive and writes so the reader actually feels what her characters are feeling, for me anyway. I will continue to read her books. This story captured my interest from the beginning to the end. I wanted it to continue so I could find out what happens next! Great reading.
The premise is good, but limited due to shortness of the book. Barely qualifies as a short story. Needs much more detail to draw in the reader.
This was my first short story reading, "Cities of the Sun." I must say that I am very impressed! I could see it having the makings of an incredible movie...sexy, intriguing, twilightesque, but with an interesting enough twist that I'd be excited about seeing it. The author has some real talent & I'm excited to read more from her. The characters are strong & interesting & I think their appearances are unique & would be fun to cast. I'd like to see where this story goes. Good stuff!!
